Hope in Action: A Laptop Delivered This Winter in Ukraine
A winter update from Nova Spark Foundation
This winter, Nova Spark Foundation delivered a much-needed Windows laptop to children at the Yatsenko orphanage in Ukraine. The laptop arrived safely and was received during winter break—right when many children had extra time to explore, learn, and practice new skills.
This purchase was made possible through the generosity of our supporters, including a generous pre-holiday donation from a local P.E.O. Chapter and individual donors who stepped in to help. We are deeply grateful.
Why a laptop matters

In many orphanages, reliable technology is limited. Phones and tablets are a meaningful part of our support and remain one of the most practical ways we can help at scale. A laptop is a rarer gift for a growing organization like ours, and it adds capabilities that are harder to achieve on smaller devices—especially for typing, longer assignments, and more advanced learning tools.
A Windows laptop can be shared between children, works well even with limited internet access, and supports the kind of learning that builds confidence and future-ready skills. For these children, it’s not just a device—it’s access to education, opportunity, and hope.
Looking ahead
This laptop is a small but meaningful step toward expanding learning opportunities for children who have already faced more disruption than any child should. It will support school assignments, typing practice, digital literacy, and early tech skills—tools that help children not only keep up, but move forward.
We’re sharing a few photos from the delivery so you can see this moment for yourself. As we continue our work in Ukraine, we remain focused on practical, high-impact support that strengthens education and everyday stability for the children we serve.
