Children Born from the Heart

by Iryna Khramova

"Since August 2014, 16 children have been brought up in our family. Special children... These are orphans and children deprived of parental care. Children from the Dnipropetrovsk region."

Larisa Hryhorivna and Yurii Volodymyrovych shared the achievements of their children.

We already have three graduates: Diana was the president of the school, entered Kyiv University named after Borys Grinchenko, to study for a year - she is getting married, now Diana is on maternity leave and we have a grandson Dima, who is 2 years old. Sofia who studied to be a designer, also got married. Oksana Silkina is a girl who wrote an indescribably touching essay about goodness. About what exactly she sees it and about gratitude to those who, not being relatives by blood, became the closest in life. The last words of her work are impressive and make you think: "Remember, to help another person, it is not necessary to be strong or rich, it is enough to be kind!". Oksanka's work was selected for publication in the "Book of Kindness"! The Book of Kindness is a large-scale international social project with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, the Embassy of Estonia in Ukraine, the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary, and the Embassy of Hungary in Ukraine. A project that travels around the world and has united thousands of children and adults with the sole purpose of finding unique stories about goodness in all its manifestations. Oksana's story is a story about our family.

Neonila is graduating from school soon and is currently preparing to enter ZNU and ZNTU. We are waiting for the results.

3 boys, Vadim, 15 years old, Zhenya, 14 years old, and Kyrylo, 10 years old, multiple winners of all-Ukrainian Kyokushinkai karate tournaments. Vlad, 15 years old, and Oleksii, 10, are passionate about football. Katya has been dancing and singing for 11 years. Kira and Masha, both 8 years old, are active amateur artists.

New children have now arrived, from one family, who are semi-orphans, with a deceased father and a very ill-mannered mother, with whom we must now carry out very careful work, the first is the fight against their fears (Junior Mark, 4.5 years old, was afraid of water from the shower , water in a bowl, cats and dogs) to instill love and kindness in their hearts and restore faith in adults.

Our children traveled as ambassadors of the world to three countries, Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey, where they were received by the general consuls of these countries. It was published by the newspaper "Kyiv City" in a book in which 18 teenagers of Ukraine were involved, who were chosen for the best reports about Ukraine.

You can talk about the family of Yatsenko Larisa and Yury for hours! It is worth visiting them and you get the impression that you are in a fairy tale! There are flowers in the yard, sculptures of cartoon characters, bright colors and children's cheerful, sonorous voices everywhere! I will not hide, said Larisa Hryhorivna, about the difficulties, about the lack of space in the house, about the disappointments and mistakes that children make despite their efforts. But they are children, and children (no matter if they are native or "born from the heart") make mistakes. The main thing is that there are those who will always help with advice and give you the feeling that you have a real family. A place where you will be understood and supported! The natural daughter of Larisa and Yuriy must have inherited the same good heart and sensitivity, because she also became a mother - a teacher, moreover, one of the youngest foster mothers Ukraine! The Yatsenko family teaches by their own example: we can all do something good for others. Not everyone is able to raise an abandoned child, but goodness is different. You just have to want it!
